Eliza Dushku Wants Black Widow Role in Iron Man 2

One of our loyal readers was being especially vigilant today while listening to the Howard Stern show with special guest Eliza Dushku. Dushku is doing press for her new series, Dollhouse, which premieres tomorrow night on FOX.  The actress had to learn a variety of languages for the Joss Whedon project, including Russian, which sparked a light bulb – she could play the Russian born super spy-slash-assassin Black Widow in Iron Man the Deuce.

Eliza asked Howard to reach out to Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau on her behalf and urges her fans and anyone who thinks this is a good idea to start an online movement to put her in the part.  The sexy 28 year old also mentioned another movie factoid – she played Mary Jane opposite friend Tobey Maguire in his audition.  You know, if she would have dyed her hair red, she probably would have been a better choice than Dunst.  Just sayin’.  Special thanks to Christopher M. for this one.

What do you think of Eliza Dushku as Natalia Romanova, aka The Black Widow?

  • I would definitely support Dushku as Black Widow.
  • I don't think she's that great of an actress, to be honest...
  • it's a comic book movie not Shakespeare...I think people seem to forget that sometimes these are meant to be entertainin......as good as actress Emily Blunt is I could never take her seriously holding a gun or in a fight scene...she looks like a gust of wind could take her out..lol...

  • I agree I would uspport her for the role.

Hell she would have made a much better Mary Jane than Dunst who had no clue what she was doing half the time.
  • Adam
Anyone would have been a better Mary Jane then Dunst! Heck Toby Mcguire would have played Mary Jane better.
  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! ROTFLMAO!! Yea may be Aunt May actress should've been Mary Jane instead.

I'm in. Love Eliza. She could do it. It'd be nice to finally see her make a nice transition to film, and to something other than Joss Whedon related, even though Joss is the man. Looking forward to Dollhouse.
  • If she agrees to dye her hair red, I wouldn't mind her, but I don't think she'd be my first choice. I'd like to see some super athletic gymnast as Black Widow, to match the character and be able to do some insane stuff with her body - which would play nicely with Tony Stark's interests.
  • excellent point, although how many Russian gymnasts are willing to do stunt work and have years of acting credits? I'm sure the casting call would make a great special feature on the DVD
