Wood Wants Horror Film ‘The Home’ In Production By End of Year

By  · Published on September 9th, 2009

I’ve been wanting to see the concept for The Home come to life in brilliant flashing images on a silver screen ever since I first heard it. Just think: a mentally and physically scarred firefighter, a house that manifests itself and torments all the elderly people inside, and the inevitable sequel The Home Alone wherein Macaulay Culkin goes insane inside a living house that doesn’t like having paint cans hung from its rafters.

It’s one of the more innovative horror concepts I’ve heard tale of in a while, so of course I’m keeping an ear to the ground for any developments.

So far, it’s about where it was during the last update. WETA is still involved, Elijah Wood is still one of the producers, but now he’s at least claiming he wants a 2009 start date.

During an interview with Attack of the Show, Wood discussed his role in 9 and told Olivia Munn and crew some background for The Home (skip to 5:30 for that):

So it’s nothing concrete, obviously, but it’s always nice to hear a producer definitively claim a next project and that he’s focused on seeing it through to lensing before the end of the year.

Especially since I really want to see this WETA concept art come to life:
