Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie on set of The Changeling

Clint Eastwood’s Changeling is scheduled for limited release on October 24th, opening wide on October 31st, says the Hollywood Reporter. This scheduling worked so well when Warner’s tried it for Eastwood’s Oscar-winning Mystic River, which also premiered at Cannes like Changeling, that it was worth doing again. If it works, don’t fix it.

Changeling, a Universal/Imagine production from a script by J. Michael Straczynski and directed by Clint Eastwood, stars Angelina Jolie as single mom whose missing son is returned to her by the police. But she says the boy they’ve brought back is the wrong one. The film’s setting is 1920s Los Angeles.

It’s unlikely Spike Lee will attend the opening.
