Although now that I know you were serious about liking it I have no freaking idea what to think of you and your taste.

I have no problem with MBV 3D because it knows what it is...it's not already an established franchise like Spider-Man is...I just don't see the upside to spending the extra money on an already bloated budget...I'd rather they spend the money the on the CGI special effects...I can understand where 3D is used with horror and Pixar films...I just think it's a bit of a throw away with large scale action films that are already entertaining on their own without the 3D effects...like I said if Avatar does the method justice I'll be on board..at the moment 3D isn't strong enough to get people in seats or I should say older teens/adults...

well if it hinders the quality of story because they can't get the 3D camera rigged properly and they can't shoot scenes the way the director wants it could be a disaster...I think after Spider-Man 3 the last thing you want to give the writers, producers, actors and director is a large distraction like making it 3D...if there is a process of turning the already shot footage into 3D go for it...but don't make it the biggest aspect about the movie...focus on "story" and writing I'm not going to a Universal Studios ride I'm going to see a movie... I think that's why people are calling it a gimmick, with examples like My Bloody Valentine and Monsters Vs. Aliens....they feel like theme park attractions rather than films..Avatar may end up changing a lot people's minds including my own but I want a movie not things popping off the screen...I don't want to be distracted from the film itself...

The original British mini-series from the 80's was amazing and dark.....I think it's going to be odd seeing it condensed into one film.. I have total faith in Campbell and Monahan...let's just hope Mel Gibson isn't too rusty from his break from acting...I agree Gibson was great in Payback...although, there isn't going to be any humor in this movie if it's anything like the mini-series....dark, violent and serious Gibson is a rare thing to see on screen...I'm hoping for more of a performance like we saw in Braveheart...it's more of a Departed/Mystic River kind of movie...I really wouldn't compare it to Taken

My Winnipeg (i think Neil referenced it in this post, ) is a really weirdcool semi-sorta-psuedo-documentary about the filmmaker, Guy Maddin. it's about Winnipeg, his hometown/current place of residence.

I thought My Bloody Valentine 3D used the 3D well and wasn't that gimmicky. Sure you have an eyeball or two punched out towards the camera, but if you didn't have that, you'd feel cheated. 3D makes excellent use of depth of image and creates an exciting experience. MBV3D also made great strides in 3D technology. The camera rigs are getting lighter and easier to use. Within a few short years I'm sure you'll have 3D capable imaging systems that are no bigger than todays regular HDCams.
