A wise man once said “It’s not just about seeing Star Wars two weeks before everyone else. You’ve gotta plow through crap like Marie Antoinette and Catwoman as well.” I have the fortune of being able to see all of the films that I want, and find out that they are only worth one viewing (or less) before I would willingly pay for the DVD…and subsequently end up hating myself later. But for every The Whoopee Boys there has to be an Indiana Jones, and because of the great films I am able to put myself further in debt every week.

DVD’s I Bought – Week of December 11th

The Bourne Ultimatum – HD-DVD
Jason Bourne is back, and in a big way. Not a fan of the second film of the series, I wasn’t too excited for this third installment. However, I was wrong, the film was outstanding. Bourne tears it up in High Definition and makes this a perfect gift for any DVD freak or movie lover.
Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix – HD-DVD
When you own all the other DVD’s of the series, it’s kind of hard to pass this one up. Harry and friends look fantastic in High Definition though, and this DVD makes me wish that I had bought every movie in HD. Luckily WB has provided fans with an HD-DVD and Bluray boxset of all the films.
The Rocket
Fellow Film School Reject Neil Miller has been foaming at the mouth for this one for quite some time. A story that follows Maurice “The Rocket” Richard through his hockey legend. It looks fantastic, and we owe this one to our friends from the north. Well done.
DVD’s I Didn’t Buy – Week of December 11th

High School Musical 2
Can you blame me for not wanting this one? I think I would rather have High School Nude-ical…Seriously though, Disney is taking advantage of the popularity of this franchise and totally raping this property.
December Boys
I know critics have said great things about this one, but I really can’t imagine Danielle Radcliffe not wearing a Slytherin uniform. It’s awesome that he is trying to shed the typecast, but he is and will always be Harry Potter to all his fans.
