The Weinstein Brothers and Dragon Dynasty bring you Born to Fight on DVD. This Thai film is all about action. The subtitles and Dub are both a bit above average, though you really don’t need to know what’s going on to appreciate it.

But what is going on? I’ll tell you! A group of Athletes, yes athletes, head out on a press-type tour with an unlikely tag-along: brother to a Tae Kwon Do expert, an undercover cop! Hell yeah. Arriving at the village we see some of the athletes are people persons… people people? Whatever. Some are cool, some are lame. We meet some talented villagers, including a tiny TKD girl and a one-legged soccer star.

Soon the village is over-run by a renegade group of soldiers intent on firing a nuclear missile into the capital city. Obviously our undercover cop rallies both the athletes and the villagers to action and it is ass whooping time. Now, it sounds ridiculous and it pretty much is. But awesome. The stunts are amazing and the fights are spectacular. There is a girl who uses surrounding poles and stuff like a gymnast while kicking dudes in the face, motorcycle chases, one-legged soccer dude kicking people, lots of shooting, lots of punching. If you’ve ever said to yourself “I bet a soccer ball is a great weapon and could be used to knock a man out of a gun tower 100 yards away” then this is the movie for you and you have a stunning ability at predicting future weapons.

Again, this offering from Dragon Dynasty fits in with their other releases I’ve reviewed. The picture quality is good and the extras are interesting. This one offers up, most notably, a stunt reel which runs over the credits and a making of. If foreign action lights you fire, and you like a good touch of humor, this is all for you baby.
