Dominic Cooper: From Human Vibrator to Howard Stark?
Movie News By Neil Miller on May 25, 2010 | (3) Comments
After being featured as part of the solution to all of Tony Stark’s problems in Iron Man 2, the character of Howard Stark (his father) is moving on to another Marvel property: Captain America. This according to actor Dominic Cooper, who also confirmed that he will be playing the role in Joe Johnston’s upcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger.
You may recognize Cooper from last year’s little Oscar movie that could, An Education, or his role as Amanda Seyfried’s crooning groom in Mamma Mia!. He is also due to portray Uday Hussein and the man who was forced to impersonate him in The Devil’s Double. Yes, that Uday Hussein. He’s a solid young actor who could very well pull off a young Stark, who was portrayed in Iron Man 2 by John Slattery, of Mad Men fame.
There’s no confirmation of this yet from Marvel Studios. There isn’t even a quote in the original article from Salon, so we’re in waiting for some confirmation. We’ll let you know when and if that happens. However, I would suggest reading the Salon piece, in which Cooper talks about his role in the Cannes hit Tamara Drewe, in which he plays a character compared lovingly to a “human vibrator.”
