in physical appearance, Emile Hirsh could be a good choice. I think the biggest issue
would be the actors voice, not singing, but speaking voice. Jerry had a very
unmistakable voice. Jack Black couldlose the weight but could he pull off the voice?

I just checked imdb.com’s poll (the one inspired by yourselves). Jeff Bridges is leading among the human options (which’d be a great choice). I say ‘human options’ because 20-30% of participants in that poll don’t know who Jerry Garcia is (!!!).

This is an absolute no brainer, man. And he’s got the acting chops to pull an Oscar nom for it, too!

If this is to be about a young Jerry then you should have a fat guy like Jack Black or Seth Rogan. Jerry was quite thin untill the early eighties.
