Gotham Police Department Major Crimes Unit

If you have been following the viral marketing campaign for the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight, then you probably received an email this morning from Lt. Jim Gordon. If you didn’t get one, no worries, as I am about to explain what the email was all about. The email contained a simple message: “OK friend, you’re up to bat now. You have yourself a new assignment: Operation Slipknot.”

The link to “Operation Slipknot” takes you to a page inside the website of the Gotham Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit. There, we see a list of 7 Gotham PD officers who have warrants out for their arrest.

Dark Knight: Operation Slipknot

If you click on the “Assignment” button at the top right of the screen, you will see that you need to call the Gotham Intercontinental Hotel Concierge (1-866-306-5589) and convince them to send you a care package that has been left there for each of the listed fugitives. Once you receive that package, it will show you all of the information you need to proceed.

So there you have it, your opportunity to help Lt. Jim Gordon and the Gotham City PD catch some major offenders. Has anyone called over to the Intercontinental Hotel yet? If so, feel free to leave us an update in the comment area below.

I tried to call but all that is there is a recording. I left a message with the reference number and a address.

Anyone have any other luck?

LostCrichton says:

I’ve tried to call on like six different names this morning. I left a voice message since that was the only way to get through. Hopefully I’ll get something in the mail or email soon.

Mahsess says:

I tried but it hangs up before it even picks up

Nish says:

When will they launch Operation Korn?

Josh Radde says:

HAHAHA Nish! I know, right? Operation Slipknot? How about Operation Limp Bizkit where prize goes to the one who gets Fred Durst in a head-lock and we all (FSR staff and loyal) get a chance to kick him in the balls.

Jason says:

I think it is referring to the slipknot in a hangmans noose, not a reference to a crap band like Slipknot, :)

Cole Abaius says:

If you go to the site now it claims that all the packages have been intercepted. We’ll see if they were real packages or just emails…

I’ll search around for any news about people getting through the phone lines.

Coquito Von Tito says:

Dark Knight, I can’t wait!

Josh Radde says:

Who’s beautiful?! Neil, let’s track down this cyber “Jessica” and commence Donkey Punch.

Jason says:

there looks like there are only three more people who have packages en route to them, cant wait to see what happens next
