I loved the movie about as much as everyone else, but I never expected the wave of accolades and awards that Slumdog Millionaire is racking up. At this rate, they’ll be able to melt all their statues down, send that pile off to Cash4Gold, and give microloans to every impoverished person in the subcontinent.

With this DGA win, the film has earned praise from the Golden Globes, the Producer’s Guild and SAG as well as numerous Top Ten List placements.

So, either this film is getting every single award possible as consolation for not winning Best Picture at The Big Game, or it will be taking home hardware from the Oscars as well.

And by “The Big Game,” I of course mean The Super Bowl since even Slumdog Millionaire could beat the Arizona Cardinals.
