In possibly the best movie related news I’ve read in several weeks, FirstShowing.net is reporting that Daniel Craig is signed on to portray Bond, James Bond, in movies 22, 23, 24, and 25. That is four new Bond’s for you, confirmed right here!

This will thrust Craig into the (numerically) upper echelon of the Bonds, coming in third after Connery’s 6 and Moore’s 7. Pierce Brosnan portrayed a good Bond 4 times in 4 stiff movies (yawn). The door is still open for Craig to continue past Bond 25, but let’s be thankful we’re going to be treated to a long list of films with those abs and steely blue eyes filling the role-… I mean, Daniel Craig is a fine actor who brought a refreshing take to the franchise and combined with the new style, shows a great promise of reinvigorating the series and elevating it to spine tingling heights! Personally, I rank him second behind only Sean Connery as Best Bond. And with time, he may even surpass the great one, especially in the eyes of this new generation being exposed to this sly, suave spy.

In other good news for Craig, he continues to take projects outside of the Bond franchise, a vital step in making sure not to be forever type cast as the super spy – ahem, Mr. Moore.
