Cloverfield Update! Rob’s Surprise Going Away Party In NYC
Movie News By Brian C. Gibson on January 18, 2008 | Be the First To CommentSo we are in New York City, and the date is 1-18-08. You know what that means right? Yes, Cloverfield comes out today…but more than that. It means that last night was Rob’s Surprise Going Away Party thrown by Myspace.
Two hundred lucky myspacers were invited to partake in a Cloverfield-like party that included the cast from the film, some press and yours truly. I know what you might already be asking yourself, and yes the Cloverfield monster came. Don’t worry though, we got him to throw a few drinks back and he was telling us stories from his early days in the business. Rob threw up a toast, and the party was on.
The highlight of the night was that cast members Michael Stahl-David, Lizzy Caplan, Mike Vogel and Jessica Lucas were there to share in the festivities. It was lucky that we were able to be there because it was a great time. Thanks to the awesome folks over at Myspace and Paramount Pictures, there was an even bigger surprise in store…
The party started to file out near 11:30 and everyone who attended was led to a theater to grab a sneak midnight screening of Cloverfield. I have to admit, it’s pretty surreal to be in New York and to see the film with people who know the city. Keep close, we will be reporting more on Cloverfield from New York City, including some interviews with the cast and director Matt Reeves.
