I know, I know — when are we going to stop talking about Cloverfield and its mysterious monster? At some point the buzz will die down, I’m sure — but for now, we are all wrapped up in the wicked viral experience that is Paramount’s upcoming monster thriller. In the clip that you are about to see, which was sent to me by FSR reader Miguel, the monster exists on-screen for a moment, but is covered by a hail of gunfire and smoke. You hear it scream and then a quick cut to another scene. So sure, it isn’t a real sighting — and we don’t expect to see one of those until well after the film is released — but it is pretty damn cool. Check it out below — the spot is called “Breath”.

Cloverfield hits theaters next Friday, January 18.
