Cloverfield: Slusho Commercial Hits the Web

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on December 6, 2007

Details have been coming out slowly as the marketing for the J.J. Abrams’ produced super-secret monster movie Cloverfield heats up. We helped debut the second trailer (which can be viewed here) back in mid-November. Today, sources told our friends over at ShockTillYouDrop that the film will have a very lean running time of 90 minutes. So needless to say, whatever this monster is, it will completely wipe out New York in 90 minutes, right? Cool.

Also, the folks who are marketing Cloverfield have been passing around a little faux commercial for the soft drink Slusho! which is the beverage of choice in Cloverfield. The trailer, which can be seen below, is only the most recent Slusho! appearance. The drink made its rounds on the hit show Heroes all last month, as our friends at /film reported.

  • Wow that's terrible.

And speaking honestly the only thing that has me interested in Cloverfield is the giant monster. The trailer, the hand held camera style, the producer, this stupid idiotic commercial, all of this makes me not want to see it. All the "hype" around it.

Guess what, it won't live up to it. Is there any movie that actually lives up to the hype it creates? And Slusho? Who cares. Unless the monster is created by Slusho, its stupid. And if it is created by Slusho, that is even stupider.

JJ Abrams needs to have that big egotistical head of his popped.

I'm about to watch it again, notice at the very end of the trailer there is a quick pan, I think it might be something.

PS. Fure, I think its gonna be fun trying to crack this code.

robert, if you dont like it, why are you wasting your time posting? thats even "stupider". it would seem you want to put it down so that you can be the "unique" one that doesnt like what almost everyone else likes. get over it, its just a movie, move on with your life. anyways.. i dont know if anyone saw the lady(?) wearing an oven mit hammering what looks like a portrait or something. idk, might be something.. i havent had time to analyze it all.
