Clive Owen and Jason Statham Square Off as ‘The Killer Elite’
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 26, 2010 | 1 Comment
Here’s a pretty bad-ass pairing of badasses: Clive Owen and Jason Statham. The former has signed on — according to Variety — to the upcoming actioner The Killer Elite. His role will be that of a former British special forces member who is being hunted by a team of assassins, led by Statham’s character, a former Navy Seal.
The project, which is based on the novel “The Feather Men,” by Ranulph Fiennes, is set to begin shooting next month in Australia with newcomer Gary McKendry in the director’s chair. Owen’s role is more specifically described as the leader of a clandestine group protecting former special forces soldiers and their families.
Adding to the current landscape of men-on-a-mission films and stories about former special forces, The Killer Elite certainly has something unique going for it. How many of you have wanted to see Clive Owen and Jason Statham square off in a game of elite ass-kicking? I know that I have. These are two bonafied action stars, and seeing them go mano-a-mano could be a whole mess of fun.
