joey v, i respect you're opinion but he def does not deserve best actor or best director pitted against the likes of

brad pitt - The curious case of benjamin button
sean penn - milk
mickey rourke - the wrestler
Benicio Del Toro - Che
Frank Langella -Frost/Nixon

need i go on!?!?

i almost forgot HEATHE FU*$ING LEDGER
for giving a great effing performance in an amazing movie this year
even if hes dead, i personally wasnt effected by that and went into the movie as if he wasnt dead
and still felt the same. pretty damn fantastic on that character that has been potrayed so many other times so terribly.

so back to my point.
Gran tarino is def entertaining, with some funny racism remarks that i dont take seriously since its clint eastwood and he can say anything he wants.

but in the end this is just like another movie with a good performance and a good direction.

not amazing or moving....

just good......

He took his acting career to new boundaries. And I don't want to sound mean or offend anyone with saying this, but his racism in this movie is something you don't see anymore. I can't think of a movie with more racial slurs in it since "Blazing Saddles." It seems that Directors are too afraid to be politically correct nowadays that they don't push their limits. Clint, who is known as a Kind man, reached those limits and then some. It seems that people like going to the movies and hearing something that they aren't allowed to say in everyday life. Almost like they no that they can say it, but they won't. And when someone else says it. It is ok. I think that is one of many reasons that Clint and his film deserve to Win in every major category. I know a lot of people would like to see "The Dark Knight" win Best Picture, but as much as I love that movie, it wasn't anywhere near this one. I apologize for rambling on. And once again apologize if I offended anyone when talking on such a sensitive topic as racism.

Hi FSR Posters. My names Joey as you can see. I am 16 years old and was raised on Eastwood. My dad loved "The Man with No Name" series. And My personal favorite movie is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I have watched every movie in the "Dirty Harry" series, from Dirty Harry to The Dead Pool. Clint has been my hero in a sense. He has always played the role of bad ass. And never took shit from anyone. He reminded me in away of my father. Minus the Killing part. What Clint states up there is how I live my life. You just can't take shit from anyone. Don't talk your way out of anything. Because it won't make whatever/whoever go away. I just went to see "Gran Torino" tonight with, who else, my dad. After watching this movie I can say, not that I am a Homer, Clint deserves to Win Best Actor and Best Director. Plus that needs to be the Best Movie of 2008.

I think that might be the best rebuttal I have seen in a long time. Let's try and leave Obama and the ACLU out of this. It's not as if things would be improved extremely if they weren't present in America.

I throughly enjoyed Gran Torino, of course without Clint it wouldn't half the film that it is but it is defiantly worth a look. I don't think he could of picked a better movie for his last acting role, he is badass and I have mucho respect for him.

This pussification of our society has been on my mind for several years and me being only twenty-four I suppose I'm right in the middle of it. I'm tempted to go post a long and raving blog over this. It's one of those things that the more I think about it the more it perturbs me. This younger generation of kids are going to have some real problems when they are grow up and are out on their own. I honestly can't stand these kids today, I feel as if I live in a a different world as they do and rightly so. Though it's not just the kids, the parents are too busy blaming graphic video games, movies and music to realize that they can have more of an impact on a child's life than they think. Our society itself nurtures this "passing the buck" onto anything and everything. I am deeply concerned about where we are going as a society. This political correct world we live in now has us watching everything we say and looking over our shoulder as to not offend anyone. Organizations such as the ACLU, that are meant to help us protect our civil liberties and keeping discrimination in check. They have people scared into saying the pledge of allegiance as to not offend some one and potentially be prosecuted for it. I just believe there is a balance to everything in this world and that even things that are meant to help us can just as easily hurt and hinder us if it is not kept in some sort of balance.

I apologize, starting to rant a little there, hope it made some sense. Not trying to start a shit storm here just giving my heartfelt opinion on some serious issues.

So lemme get this straight, according to some of you internet tough guys, the blame for young America's "pussification" can be placed squarely at the feet of Barack Obama (who just rose to prominence only 4 years ago), and the ACLU, who might go up against a frivilous issue (to us) from time to time, but also helps to keep motherfuckers from burning crosses on my lawn?____How about the trust-fund baby who wore a filghtsuit but never flew in combat?____Or his vice-president who never shot shit outside of his hunting buddy?____Get this straight: Much like rappers who are only tough on wax, Clint Eastwood is tough shit ONSCREEN. I am in awe of his work as an actor and a director, but that tough stuff ain't all real. Yeah, you might fight a bully back and win the respect of your peers, but that same bully could put a hot bullet through your skull for disrespecting him and all you'd be is a respected dead guy. That's how the real world spins.____Israel and Gaza are currently blowing each other the fuck up without asking questions like, “Well, how do we handle it psychologically?”. ____See how well that's working out?
