Claus Confusion for Zemeckis’ ‘Christmas Carol’

Posted by Cole Abaius (cole.abaius@filmschoolrejects.com) on February 7, 2008

carrey-claus.jpgA few years ago, Jim Carrey suited up in green to try to steal Christmas. Now he might be suiting up in red and white to save Scrooge’s soul. After all, Santa Claus is in Dickens’ Christmas Carol, right? Right?

In a quick shot with MTV a young actress let slip that Carrey would be playing Santa. While it is possible that Santa will be among his 39 roles in the movie, it’s also likely that the young lady was mixing up Old Saint Nick with Christmas Present.

This should be a great addition to the Holiday Season catalog and to your local IMAX. With Zemeckis at the helm, Scrooge might just be whisked away to his trenchant past and haunting future in a souped-up Delorean.

There is no Santa in this movie. The girl was probably refering to Christmas Present. There are other kids in this movie too. I heard Sage Ryan is in it and the verizon kid and that kid from spy kids too.
