The problem with Affleck as Ryan was his age within the storyline of Ryan. Affleck could have been Ryan in Patriot Games. The Sum of All Fears led into the next several books in which Ryan became President. Affleck was too young. BTW, they have never, ever came close to getting John Clark right on film.

I think he can do it actually. If he doesn't do the all for the money we have seen in the past, that some actors *Ben Affleck* have done. He has a charisma to him that has showings of a genuine star. Time will tell though.
