Chris Evans Accepts Captain America Mission
Movie News By Neil Miller on March 22, 2010 | (14) Comments
Three days ago, it was first reported that Fantastic Four star Chris Evans was offered the role of Steve Rogers in The First Avenger: Captain America for Marvel Studios and director Joe Johnston. Today, Heat Vision has confirmed that Evans has accepted the offer, and will be the world’s big screen Captain America.
Neither Marvel or CAA, the agency that reps Evans, gave confirmation, but Heat Vision’s Borys Kit seems certain that negotiations will move quickly over the weekend now that Evans has decided to wield the shield.
As I mentioned previously, Evans is certainly a safe choice for Marvel. And should the script come together and Joe Johnston find his A-game as a director, he will make for an excellent Captain. He’s a charismatic, all-American kind of guy and even though he’s fairly well known, he can still mold himself into a performance that will honor the iconic nature of the character.
