Our good friends over at ShockTillYouDrop picked up the following concept art from from Joe Johnston’s The Wolfman that were posted over at the ZBrushCentral Forums, and it is something that we can officially mark as ‘awesome’. As many of you may know, there has been much debate over what the transformation from Benecio Del Toro to the actual Wolfman. At one point legendary make-up artist Rick Baker had publicly complained about the studio’s decision to use a computer-generated transformation instead of something practical.

It is still up in the air as to what sort of transformation will be seen in the film and as Shock points out, “The pieces below could represent Baker merely tinkering with his Zbrush program.” And we agree — either way, the images below are really frickin’ cool.

  • soo, soo badass
  • nice. It's so weird seeing Benico del Toro (mmm sexy) as a werewolf, because I just saw him in CHE (as Che Guevara) and I can't shake his amazing, Oscar-worthy performance off my mind.
  • he was robbed...Frost/Nixon really stole a lot of nominations from better movies...
  • If anything stole nominations it was Slumdog Millionaire which was very good but yet not deserving of all the Oscar buzz it received. Frost/Nixon, at least in my mind, was a quality movie in the least.
  • Nate
To bad its going to be CGI.....
  • The artwork is pretty cool, but I'm still not excited about the movie. I predict a generic, boring, and tame film.
  • Holy damn, that's awesome. As usual, Rick Baker - badass.
  • Call IT
Benecio! He rules. Good to see him in something again. I feel like it has been forever. I've heard good and bad this about Che so hopefully this will bring him back to form. Also, AKW with the script = sweet.
  • Awesome art and I shall be looking forward to this one.
  • Nice.. i think 3D would be the best way. Although the transformation in American Werewolf in London is up there as one of the best on screen.
