Carla Gugino’s Turn to Porn Gives New Meaning to Body of Work
Casting Couch By Adam Sweeney on December 16, 2008 | (10) Comments
She’s been turning heads for years, now Carla Gugino is ready to give everyone whiplash as she tackles the role of a porn star in Elektra Luxx.
Variety is announcing that writer-director Sebastian Gutierrez has chosen Gugino, one of my favorite actresses, to play the lead in Elektra Luxx, a sequel to an ensemble comedy about a day in the lives of 10 Los Angeles women.
Gugino will play a porn star “whose life is turned upside down when she discovers she’s pregnant.” Hmm, I think someone has been sneaking into my writing portfolio … Elektra Luxx jumps ahead one month later and continues the story for a full day. The film will also feature Tim Olyphant, Alicia Silverstone and Justin Kirk. Sorry Trekkies, James Kirk couldn’t make it.
You can see Gugino in the highly anticipated Watchmen, hopefully, in March. Then you can see her in the even more highly anticipated Disney movie Race to Witch Mountain. Well, you’d be anticipating it if you were 5 years old.
Will you be down for seeing Elektra Luxx? Who is an underrated actress that you enjoy?
