Don’t look now, but Cameron Diaz may be bringing her own brand of comedy to the world of The Green Hornet. That’s right, the former Charlie’s Angels star — who will also star in Richard Kelly’s The Box later this year, is said to be in talks to stand tall alongside Seth Rogen in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the popular radio and television character.

According to EW’s Nicole Sperling, Diaz is “considering an offer to play the female lead” opposite Rogen, but sources say that the talks are still in early stages. There is no word yet on who this character is, or whether we’ve seen her before in previous Green Hornet incarnations.

The Michel Gondry directed film, which is based on a script by Rogen and his Superbad writing partner Evan Goldberg, is set to shoot later this summer (within weeks, I’m told) and is set for a July 9, 2010 release.

What do you think of Cameron Diaz as The Green Hornet’s leading lady?

Eh. Not a fan at all. She was hot pre-2000. Now she's just goofy. I think they could do better. But then again I dont know what kind of character The Green Hornet's leading lady is supposed to be.

I hope she isn't in this movie. I just don't find her very likable in general and her acting is the same in every movie (yes I know the same argument could be made for Seth Rogen, well minus Observe and Report). I'd prefer someone like Zooey Deschanel.
