‘Bruno’ Trailer Asks: How Do You Defend Yourself Against a Man With Two Dildos?

There’s been a lot of news recently about Bruno after footage was shown to some SXSW audiences -including our very own Rob Hunter who peed himself laughing and tried to claim he has spilled his Odwalla juice on his crotch. Then came the inevitable NC-17 rating (that still seems more like a marketing ploy than anything else).

Now, there’s the trailer.

Words fail:

This thing looks epic. From the trailer and the footage we’ve see, it looks like he’s keeping all of the best things about the character in tact while ramping up the stakes, displaying just how far he’s willing to go to make comedy. Sacha Baron Cohen isn’t the only person out there pushing the boundaries of good taste and humor, but he’s the only one doing it this way. And at such a high level.

It’s on the fast track to being derided by anyone with good taste and hailed as a shining achievement by anyone with a sense of humor. Here’s hoping that Cohen isn’t murdered by rednecks out in the woods or beaten to death by a mob of angry black people before he can make another flick.

That baby did NOT come out of a box on a conveyor belt!! Or did it? I admit that I sometimes am unable to distinguish what's considered 'real' situations and 'real' people on both Borat and this new one, Bruno.

I'm sure he just had someone put the baby on the belt in the back. Probably wouldn't be that hard to coordinate. Velcro scene looks awesome.

Unfortunately...i'm sure there will be millions of copy-cat people out there and it will only be a small amount of time before we hear of a story of a real baby being shipped via airplane cargo

bruno looks really really funny...i worked on a movie shot like bruno and borat called midgets vs. mascots...it's premiering at the tribeca film festival and i think it's just as funny. you can watch videos at http://www.midgetsvsmascots.com

There was an interesting point someone made about how sad Borat vs Ali G was. Essentially saying that it takes balls to go after leaders and famous people but his "comedic attacks" on regular people are just sad and pathetic and often painful to watch.
