Remember how hilarious it was to see Justin Long and Ryan Reynolds pulling shenanigans left and right as restaurant employees in Waiting? Now imagine a similar movie, but with the guys from Broken Lizard, the previous creators of Super Troopers and Beerfest. That movie is The Slammin’ Salmon. And it’s making its premiere later this month at the Slamdance Film Festival. It tells the story of a retired heavyweight fighter (Michael Clarke Duncan) who gets into debt with the Yakuza and must find a way to come up with a lot of money, and fast. So he holds a contest for his wait staff. The winner takes home $10,000. The loser a pair of broken ribs.

Our friends at Collider have debuted the redband trailer for the film, which can be seen below.

  • I'm sorry... you thought 'Waiting' was hilarious?

I though Waiting was absolutly hilrious. Memorable dialog, pretty decent cast (even dane cook was funny for once...with his 4 lines). Dont Hate...I cannot Wait for Slammin’ Salmon, I just hope its at least as good as beerfest (we all know it cant be as good as Supertroopers...)
  • This does have Sundance written all over it. Has anyone noticed that Broken Lizard is one of the few groups out there actually doing parody anymore? Seltzer and What's His Face could learn a few things.
  • Michael Clark Duncan is hilarious. Rarley do you have a clip that's this funny from beginning to end.
