The folks behind the upcoming release of World’s Greatest Dad, the Robin Williams led dark comedy from director Bobcat Goldthwait, have sent over a brand new behind the scenes featurette in which the director walks us through the making of this dark, foul-mouthed comedy. If you’ll take a moment to look back at my list of The 13 Best Films of Sundance 2009, you will notice that this film made it all the way to the top of the list — as my favorite film of the festival. It is off-color, mostly inappropriate and made with two giant brass-balls.

For more on this brass-balled Sundance phenomenon, please see the redband behind the scenes featurette below.

World’s Greatest Dad is in theaters on August 21, 2009.

I caught this film a while back and it's very good. It's not the happiest of films, but Robin WIlliams is fantastic in it. Bobcat has talent as a film maker.
