true-blood-s2-header

Our friends over at Rope of Silicon have posted — over the past few weeks — a few awesome updates in advance of this summer’s second season of the HBO series True Blood, which as you know is a favorite around the FSR offices. For those who have not seen it, season one will be hitting DVD and Blu-ray on May 19, 2009 and are currently available for pre-order on Amazon. Based on a series of books by Charlaine Harris, the Alan Ball produced show follows the story of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a small town Louisiana waitress who falls in love with a mysterious vampire named Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Only in this world — unlike what you may have seen in Twilight — vampires are out in the open and fighting politically for citizenship. The series was praised by critics for its edge, as most HBO series are, bringing Charlaine Harris’ novels to life in a very sexy, dark and intriguing way. It is likely that you’ve seen vampires on screen, but unlikely that you’ve seen anything quite like this.

As I mentioned above, season two will premiere on HBO this summer, or June 14th to be exact. Below you will find two teaser posters calling for some “new blood.”
