Bill Maher in Religulous

I have, in the past, caught some flack for my public admittance of not only enjoying, but at times agreeing with the often crazy remarks made by comedian and television personality Bill Maher, but that isn’t going to stop me from keeping an eye on his upcoming film Religulous. The documentary, which is directed by Borat’s Larry Charles, takes a look at the state of world religion, specifically focused on some of the extremism that sometimes leads to hate, wars and terrorism. Where I can agree is that extremism, in any form, isn’t such a good thing — and it appears that Maher’s doc sets out to prove that, among other things. Love him or hate him for his outspoken nature, there is no denying the Bill Maher is good at starting some shit…

Religulous is being released by Lionsgate. It will hit theaters on October 3, 2008.

Not that I don't see his point, I find Bill to be one of the biggest un-funny comics out there....
His jokes are flat, stupid and infantile.....
  • This is going to be awesome.
  • I really like his body of work with P.I. and Realtime. His jokes are infantile, because the subjects he discusses are infantile - especially his take on religion. Can't wait for this movie!
  • I just find Maher to be a little bit too much of a dickhead. He mocks people pretty much to their face because they don't share his system of beliefs. Sometimes he's funny and this movie looks pretty good, but he's still not my favorite person. Though I'm sure it will be a documentary about Bill Maher mocking religion, rather than an actual documentary about religion.
