As silly as it may have been at times, “Gilligan's Island” was always good for a laugh.
If it's done in the same spirit as the original show, a Gilligan's Island movie might be a fun movie to watch.
Certainly, the TV series was no worse than much of the inane crap that is on TV today. Personally, I'd much prefer to be stranded on an island with Gilligan & the gang, than with the backstabbing, overacting fools that appear on such so-called “reality” series like Survivor.
And having watched many hours of Gilligan's Island, I'm confident that if I am ever stranded on island, I can make anything I need from palm leaves and coconut shells.

I am a little skeptical of the thought of a Gilligans Island movie, but I loved the series, used to watch it every day as a kid and on into syndication. I think Mary Ann ruined me for all other women since I am more attracted to the girls in pigtails and tight jean shorts than the glamour queens. lol

I remember several years ago hearing similar sarcastic, hateful comments being made when it was announced that they were making a “Brady Bunch” movie. Well. that movie turned out pretty good. Even the critics seemed to like it. This is just another example of how almost every announcement of an upcoming film is met with derision on this site.

I love gilligan's island, have a heart. It's a harmless slap-stick show with funny characters, you're shitting on a lot of people's childhood memories.
