Oh yeah and CHONG, this is a blow shit up movie. . Bay is perfect for it. . Blow shit up directors should be hired for blow shit up movies. Look what happened to HULK. They hired Lee for it and he isn't a blow shit up guy. . he is a we will blow some shit up here and make you think alot there kind of guy. . not what people were expecting from HULK and as a result it did poorly (I think that movie was good by the way).

What does "He went about it as if they are cars who became robots and it's the other way around" have to do with anything. The process of transforming would still be highly technical.

Oh, and burton. . he is a goot director. . very creative. . . and also VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY EXTREEEEEEEEEEEMELY TRITE. Burton did a good job at making himself unoriginal. I think what the guy was trying to say is that it takes some revamping to bring comics, cartoons and video games to the big screen. I am a HUGE comig fan but I accept and understand that comic movies aren't made specifically for comic fans, they are made to attract a new fan base while appealing in as many aspects as possible to the original fan base.

In other words, this movie was made specifically for you Chong. . . get the hell over it.

"M. Bay changed this." "M. Bay changed that." Stop with the fucking complaining and grow the fuck up. The designs are bad ass and near perfect. Every design holds the essence of the original cartoon designs. The original designs were ass. They were nothing but rectangles with cool heads. As for not being able to pick out the faces on these guys, bs, they are there plain as day. As for Megartron. . him being a gun is fucking retarded. And even with the drastic changes that took place with his design there are still hints of old design shapes.

I agree with the guys saying that this movie is aimed at attracting new fans as well as the old fans. It is also based in the real world, our world. It is being approached from a "what if this were real?" perspective. A giant robot can't turn into a tiny gun or boom box. 32 ft robot doesn't turn into an mp3 player and rectangles don't move dynamically they move like Pimpbot 5000.

I wasn't sure I would like the story (based on the leaks and what not) but I think it will work out fine. I don't think this movie should have some insanly deep story line. . . . .It's giant robots kicking the shit out of everything. . .

Oh yeah, Bumble Bee is a camero because VW didn't want to give rights for them to use the bug. Also, Bugs are gay, which would make Bumble Bee gay. . and we don't want that now do we? Not that there is anything wrong with gay robots. :)

Enjoy the movie for what it is; a damn good time! I think people of all ages will be able to enjoy this movie.

well my answer to that would be I would have wanted the "robots" to somewhat resemble the original designs. there are changes that were made that are understandable. but there were alot more changes made that weren't necessary at all. this movie means more than just "a robot film" to some people. For some people this movie, when it was originally announced, seemed like a great idea. This thing that they remember from their youth was going to be brought to life in a movie. Then came one change after another and it became obvious this wasn't the movie alot of people originally thought it would be. Starting with the whole changing Bumblebee to a Camaro. Supposidely because VW didn't want their brand in a violent movie. Which was bullshit, it really was the big business connection and product placement deal between Bay and GM.
But that's besides the point. A few changes to the film to suit products of today (for example Shockwave couldn't be a boombox today since no one uses them) would have been no big deal....but these Transformers are so diffucult to tell where their head is from their chest or whatever. That's where I think Bay went apeshit in trying to make the Transformers look TOO technical in their features. He went about it as if they are cars who became robots and it's the other way around.
Oh and finally...PLEASE never NEVER EVER try to use a great director's work like Tim Burton to justify anything Michael Bay does. It's an insult to Tim Burton and anyone else who is actually creative and not just hired cause they know how to crash cars and have shit blow up.

I have got a question for everyone here. When was the last time you saw a movie completely based off of a cartoon successful?

Even with comic books you get issues. Even Tim Burton had to reinvent Batman to a certain degree. Which brings me to my point. It is impossible to please nitpicking and hyper critical fans of a book, cartoon, or comic and even more difficult to make that movie pleasing to the rest of the target audience. So really what the writer and director have to do is take creative license over the subject and do a bit of reinventing.

It's a bunch of robots using the entire world as a rumble ring! Explosions, changing from robot to some sort of vehicle...or radio. Awesome action sequences, and so far, seamless visual FX. What more do you want from a robot film? I mean cmon...really?
