IT WAS AMAZING. The graphics are breathtaking, it doesn't look CGI at all. it seems as if you are actually there witnessing the movie. I know its cliche, but its totally true! The plot itself is the same as Dancing with Wolves, except that the visuals and the fact that its human mercenaries against 10ft tall blue aliens (the na'vi) makes me give it a 10 out of 10 and to put that in scale, i gave District 9 a 8 out of 10 and the new Star Trek a 8 out of 10 as well. The way that they used the 3D aspect is one of the greatest things i think to have ever come onto the big screen so far.

Actually they dont have to be that drastic, all they have to do is tunnel UNDER the village and no one would be the wiser since the natives are "primitive".

I'm actually really excited to see this movie. People are getting way too political about though. Some sci-fi fans are hatin' on the film. It's just a movie! Enjoy it and move on.

yeah, is it just me or does avatar sound like the ewok segment in Return of the Jedi, mixed with dances with wolves and a dash of the smurfs?

bluntly if this was anyone but Cameron, i would be going, meh. So instead I am saying, "well, maybe it will be good." i mean the abyss didn't sound very good. I thought it was going to be another one of those movies that was a thinly veiled rip off of alien, but in the ocean. Instead it turned out to be something much, much different and i absolutely loved it. sure, if you watch the extended version there is a cheesy "peace with the russians" subplot that comes out, but really over all a great movie.

Btw, exit question. Will anyone answer the basic question? if they need something down on the planet and the natives are a pain, why not do as they did in Aliens: leave and nuke it from orbit? of course i agree, you don't committ genocide just becuase the natives are troublesome, but these human are supposed to be bad, right?--so what is their excuse?

The reality is that any fighting between two planetary civilizations is likely to be extremely short.
