I'm really not a fan of 3D. It just feels gimmicky and something that's being shoved down our throats by the studios and theater chains so they can charge us more money. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Avatar in the theater and in 3D, but I'm very concerned that with Avatar's success studios will be churning out 3D movies left and right just so they can overcharge the average moviegoer. I had to explain to my friends multiple times the difference between the movie we were seeing in BS IMAX and the REAL IMAX experience. It's nice to see a big budget epic movie in 3D once in a while, but as more of these movies come out and make more and more money I think we are all going to be losing in the long run. Anyway congrats to Cameron and his crew. My guess is the sequel will crush Titanic's numbers if they actually have a good script next time.
