When any member of the Arrested Development cast speaks, the press listens. And seeing as it’s been a while since we’ve mentioned anything about that movie everyone wants, but no one seems to be making, here’s a bit of an update. At a press junket for When in Rome over the weekend, Will Arnett spoke with our good friends at Coming Soon. There, he was asked about the upcoming film adaptation of the cult hit.

“I’m so glad you asked that,” joked Arnett. “It’s very refreshing. We are working on the movie right now, yeah… We don’t have a completed script yet, but it’s forthcoming and we’re going to make the movie this year.”

When asked if cameras would roll by the end of the year, Arnett responded with “that’s the plan.” He then went on to make a joke about Jason Bateman being in rehab, or something along those lines. What we do know is that the script is still in the works. Mitch Hurwitz said this late last year at the Austin Film Festival. And given the long gestation period of the script, we can only assume that production will take place some time in 2010. We didn’t even need Arnett to tell us that. But we’re reporting it anyway, because if we say it enough, then it might finally happen.
