Apatow Promises a Superbad/Pineapple Express Crossover!

The Cast of Pineapple Express

I sat and watched Pineapple Express at a special screening last night. First off, it was just as funny as you might expect. Secondly, the film was followed by a Q&A with the film’s stars, director and producer. Those in attendance were Judd Apatow, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Danny McBride, Amber Heard and David Gordon Green.

During the Q&A it was brought to my attention that Greg Mottola, director of Superbad, was sitting directly behind me. It was brought to my attention by the fact that Mottola was called on by Apatow for a question. Mottola asked if the two of them would still be doing “those two sequels.” Judd Apatow replied “uh, yes.” This was followed by Seth Rogen joking that “we are going to crossover Superbad and Pineapple Express…it’s going to be like when The Jetsons met The Flinstones.”

Even though he was clearly joking, I would trust a project like that from the capable writing crew of Goldberg, Rogen and Apatow. It would be cool if Evan and Fogell were in college, and Seth visited and brought them some pineapple express. When they want more, they visit Saul…and that is when Officers Slater and Michaels become involved. I just may still be drunk, but I’d go see it. On a side note, Pineapple Express is hilarious.

Would you be interested in a Superbad/Pineapple Express crossover?

This title is a blatant lie.
  • Yes, we know...
  • DAMN YOU GOT TO GET IN TO SEE THE EXPRESS ! I DIDNT GET THE CHANCE. THATS FANTASTIC. CANT WAIT TO SEE THE FILM.

They should make a Judd Apatow movie marathon and call it Apatow Express. Seems like these guys have made 100 films in the past year, all better than any other comedic attempt I have seen lately.

And the title was misleading...but it did get you to read the editorial. Mwahaha.

I would love to see a crossover of these 2 films! I realized I had to put Apatow and his crew on top of my comedy pyramid because my laughs for the past years have been taken care of Apatow.

How is Seth Rogen supposed to play 2 characters? This was obviously a joke.

They could do the crossover. They could say that the events in pineapple express were taken place before Superbad and that since then, Dale has become a cop and changed his name. Him, Slater, Seth, Evan, and Fogel all get into some kind of drug ring by accident and that have to see Saul and Red for help. It could happen.
