Now that your dreams of buying MGM are over, it’s time to set your sights on a different profession – but you don’t want to leave the world of film. Luckily for you, a position just opened up with the MPAA that might pique your interest.

According to Variety, Dan Glickman will be vacating the post he’s held for 6 years as Chairman and CEO to become president of the displacement advocacy and aid group Refugees International. Glickman presided over the MPAA during the height of internet piracy, watching it become a full blown migraine for the film and music business.

So what kind of qualifications do you need for this high-paying, illustrious job of lobbying the government on behalf of the Motion Picture Association of America?

Glickman had previously been

  • President of the Wichita School Board
  • A Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Kansas’s 4th District
  • Secretary of Agriculture
  • Director at the Institute of Politics at Harvard

I’m sure you have a pretty comparable resume. Mail it in to:

MPAA
Office of the Chairman and CEO
1600 Eye Street, NW
Washington, DC 20006

Best of luck!

The MPAA will search from within its own ranks for a replacement, so it’s likely that Bob Pisano (who is taking over in the interim anyway) may permanently get the position. Of course, they are also looking outside, so you still have a shot.

You just need to go buy a tie first.

What do you think?
