Another ‘Trek’ Trailer Lives Longer, Prospers About the Same
First Look By Neil Miller on November 25, 2008 | (2) Comments
The folks over at Ain’t It Cool News have scored a pretty nifty exclusive this afternoon, uncovering a second, slightly extended version of the Star Trek trailer. As you will see below, the trailer doesn’t add much, but we do get our first look at Leonard Nimoy as old Spock at the end. In the clip, he delivers his most famous line. Have a look for yourself below.
The only thing that strikes me as odd with this second trailer is that the only added footage is some legacy stuff — potential lip service to Trekkers who might not have reacted well to the first trailer’s glossy, blockbustery aesthetic. It is just a theory, and it’s probably wrong, but it does make sense to a certain degree.
Check out the trailer in high definition over at AICN. Star Trek hits theaters on May 8, 2009.
What do you think is the reason behind this second trailer? Also, does it excite your pointy little ears to see old Spock in action?
