Another Epic Trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Warner Bros. Pictures has provided FSR with the third theatrical trailer for their upcoming adventure Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film in the Potter series and the second from director David Yates. This edition will follow Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) as begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There he discovers an old book marked mysteriously “This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince” and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past.

As someone who has long been an outsider to the whole Potter craze — though I have seen all of the films — I have to say that as they go along they seem to get darker and bigger. In fact, if there is one word that I would use to describe this particular trailer it would be epic — it feels like a much bigger, more ferocious film than we’ve seen before in the Potter series and I like that. Hopefully that tone holds true for the entire film.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled to hit theaters on July 15, 2009. Check out the brand new trailer below, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. You can also download the trailer in HD via the links at the bottom.

  • I like the trailer but I do not like that they showed what looks like Harry and Snape fighting. That's a horrible edit.

    They could have excluded that bit with Snape. Otherwise that was an excellent trailer -- Epic, exciting, ominous, it had it all.

    Also, it's kinda hard to see in this trailer, but is Professor Slughorn the same guy who was Stanford's sheriff in Hot Fuzz?

  • It's not on your end. The embedded video is indeed the old trailer. Neil screwed up. :) Underneath the embedded video, there are direct download links. Right click on the 480p link and "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" to download to your computer. Make sure you have a player capable of viewing .mov files. VLC Media Player works fine.
