Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson in Bride Wars

Three things you should know about Bride Wars before going into it:

  • It’s about two people who can’t solve a simple problem rationally.
  • There will be Bridezilla behavior.
  • There will be sabotage.

The movie, directed by Gary Winwick, is all about two best friends who manage to schedule the biggest day of their respective lives on the same date. This is where point 1 comes in. Logical people would simply sort out an arrangement whereby the date of one gets moved. Yes, I know it’s a movie. Doesn’t mean I can’t bitch about logic though.

Once you get past the initial logic glitch, the premise has great promise. A pair of best friends who know each other better than anyone, both trying to get the other to bow out on her big day to make way for the other? Think of the carnage! In fact, some of it has already been caught on film (see picture above), and those alone are enough to bring forth a giggle or two. Anne Hathaway’s bright orange skin seems to suggest that she may have had a slight issue with a spray on tan machine, whilst Kate Hudson’s new blue do looks oh so fetching, won’t it set off the white gown perfectly?

I sincerely hope this is just the start of the antics, I’m already eager to see more and I just hate being let down! Bridezilla behaviour is comical when you’re not bearing the brunt of it, and attacking another bride seems to just be taking it to the next step. Sadly, it’s not out til 2009, and I hope no one double books its release date.
