‘Angels & Demons’ Trailer Brings The Intensity

Angels and Demons

Remember The Da Vinci Code, Ron Howard’s first adaptation of a Dan Brown novel? It was boring. Long, slow and downright boring. And whether or not you liked the film, you can’t deny that it was dry. So it may come as a surprise to you that Angels & Demons, the second Dan Brown adaptation from Mr. Howard and his hetero-lifemate Tom Hanks (reprising his role as Robert Langdon), has unleashed a trailer that is super-intense. And in fairness, the intensity difference also exists between Brown’s two books — to say the least, “Angels & Demons” packs quite a bit more action, and quite a few more disturbing situations.

Written by I Am Legend scribe Akiva Goldsman and War of the Worlds’ David Koepp, Angels & Demons follows Robert Langdon as he works with the Vatican to solve a murder and prevent a further attack from a dangerous organization known as the Illuminati. It will also star Ayelet Zurer (Vantage Point), Ewan McGregor and Stellan SkarsgĂ„rd.

Angels & Demons hits theaters May 15, 2009. Check out the full trailer below, courtesy of MSN, where you can also see the trailer in High Definition.

wow, this looks awesome! thank god something good coming up on may
  • Looks good much intense and more interesting facts (well fiction if some cases are untrue) on the movie itself. I'm glad to see Ewan McGregor .
  • Chille
It does look intense, but didn't The Da Vinci code look just as intense?
    I'm still skeptical.

I agree with Chille, the trailer for the Da Vinci Code showed the same thrilling potential, but turned out to be a snooze-fest. Even my friend who was into the book and paid for me to go thought it was okay, but was just flat. You can cut a trailer from the existing film to be just about any type of genre, especially with the voiceover. I don't know if I'll catch this in the theatre, but if my buddy is willing to pay I guess I will. Beside it can't be any worse than when he dragged me to see The Spirit!
