Angelina Jolie Considers Living in Sin City

Sitting in a dark theater a few years ago, I hoped against common sense that Sin City 2 would start as soon as the credits for Sin City were over. I didn’t want to leave. I’m sure a lot of other fans felt that way - anxious to know when the next installment would happen.

So far all we’ve gotten have been false starts and the teaser trailers for The Spirit to keep us company. Now, we might have Angelina Jolie to add to that company.

That Miller and company are after her isn’t exactly news - there have been rumors since talks of a sequel began that Jolie would be the perfect actor to fill in the role of Ava Lord - but a recent chat with MTV’s Movies Blog is proving that there’s interest on her side of the deal as well.

“Id’ be curious [if offered],” Jolie said during the interview.

That’s all I need to know to be happy - you can discount the confusing claims that the movie was working around her pregnancy (since she, you know, hasn’t even been approached by them yet), but once she finally births the sedecimtuplets, anoints them with oil and slims back down to a size 4, she just might be flashing those famous lips in black and white for Mr. Miller.

It’s pretty obvious that she’s a great choice for the role. Ava is a manipulative, lethally sexy woman who uses coercion and amoral attitudes to get what she wants. Plus, it would be fantastic to see Jolie act up against Clive Owen’s Dwight.

For now, the unsubstantiated yet totally believable rumors that Rachel Weisz will be portraying Ava Lord are sticking, although it’s a confusing casting choice. Did Frank Miller see Weisz in The Shape of Things? Manipulative, alpha-bitchy, yes. But Film Noir seductive and sexy? Color me unconvinced.

And, yes, I did just claim that Angelina Jolie was pregnant with sixteen children. No, I don’t have proof. Deal with it.
