American Gangster was the kind of film that a.) should've stayed as a single movie, or b.) should've had a big-budget sequel with most (if not all) of the original actors returning. It's a pity, since direct-to-DVD sequels to good films that feature unknown actors are almost always an embarrassment. Why are they making a crappy sequel to a really good big budget motion picture? American Gangster was the kind of film that a.) should’ve stayed as a single movie, or b.) should’ve had a big-budget sequel with most (if not all) of the original actors returning.

It’s a pity, since direct-to-DVD sequels to good films that feature unknown actors are almost always an embarrassment.
