Alice in Wonderland Trailer: Johnny Depp Goes Mad!

Just in time for Comic-Con, the first teaser trailer for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland has arrived online. It features our first look at young Mia Wasikowska as Alice, the girl whose curiosity lands her in an enchanted world of oddities. Among those oddities is the Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp. At least, we’re told that’s Johnny Depp — sure doesn’t look much like him.

The look and feel of the movie has a very Burton-esque tone, akin to the director’s work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and nothing like his work on Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. Check out the trailer below. Also, if you’re in San Diego for Comic Con — which is where our own fearless leaders Cole Abaius and Neil Miller would be had they not been arrested early this morning — be sure to check out our Comic Con ‘09 Homepage for coverage of the Disney 3D panel, which will include a reaction to footage from Alice in Wonderland. Either way, this trailer looks brilliant. Gotta love that Tim Burton!

    Love JD and looking forward to this movie, However I hate Facebook signed up before though it was a waste of energy I think they would have ben better doing this on MYPSce ot Twitter than Facebook. After I see the trailer I will be deleting my account.

    Is walt disney pictures and jerry bruckheimer films going to start filming pirates of the caribbean 4 after they finish filming alice in wonderland?. I hope they do so that we all can see some kind of movie trailer for it as soon as possible since its coming out in 2011. By the end of 2010 is when i think we'll see some kind teaser trailer for it about 8 months before it theatrical release to movie theaters. We all might see a trailer for it in november of 2010, which be teaser trailer and then the official theatrical trailer would come out in march 2011. The official theatrical trailer will most likely come out two months before its theatrical release in march 2011 before the theatrical release of the movie in theaters in may 2011. Then after all that passes, dvd and blu ray disc would be coming out in december 2011.
  • Tim Burton and Johnny Depp can't go too wrong! The whole fake effects actually looks cool and very stylized. I think its a pretty bold art direction.

    soooo this is a revisioning because its going to be hatter-cetric for no reason other than the fact that depp and burton cant get enough of eachother?

    I think this particular trailer focused on the hatter because depp is the movie's most recognizable name and thus its biggest selling point.
