Advanced Iron Sits Down with Jon Favreau

It’s been eight hours, and I’m still standing in the same spot. Out here, you don’t get a break, someone has to bring you your food, and you have to call for a replacement to go to the bathroom. Where I’m standing is a makeshift guard shack that stands between a non-descript parking lot and the building where Robert Downey, Jr. is suited up as Tony Stark, shooting a scene for the highly anticipated Iron Man movie.

I was lucky enough to work on set for a day, but my story is hardly worth an interview. Fortunately, our dear friends over at Advanced Iron knew this and chose to interview Iron Man director Jon Favreau instead.

In an incredible look into the mind of the talent bringing Tony Stark and company to life, the interview spans six eye-opening pages of the zine and covers everything from Favreau’s CGI philosophy, the depth of the characters, and, of course, the suit. As if that weren’t enough, the interview is followed by a transcript of the round table interviews with Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrance Howard at Comic Con. Plus, the rest of the zine is packed with tons of Iron Man geek goodies.

The interview is impressively well done, and you can read it here.

  • Thank you for the coverage and the great remarks about the zine! I had a lot of fun in San Diego and Favreau's energy for Iron Man and movies in general is amazing.
