Adam Sandler is Scary Madison?

Adam Sandler is Scary Madison

That kids, is called misdirection. You may have followed this link thinking that Adam Sandler was going to portray some sort of Halloween version of Billy Madison, but that’s just not true. But the real news is at the same level of weirdness.

Adam Sandler will serve as executive producer of the upcoming thriller Shortcut, about brothers who take a rarely used shortcut in their town and find all sorts of unexpected terror. The film will feature Andrew Seeley, Shannon Woodward and Dave Franco who will be guided under the direction of Nicholaus Goosen, the man behind the hilarious Grandma’s Boy. Scott Sandler and Dan Hannon share writing credits on the script, proving that a good portion of the Happy Madison crew is on board.

Now, back to “Scary Madison.” That is the title of the new off-shoot production arm of Happy Madison productions, which will pursue genre projects, assuming that Shortcut drives to box office success. While on the surface this may seem an unlikely pairing, I’m all for getting new blood (chuckle) into the horror stream. There is no reason why this crew couldn’t come up with something surprisingly good. David Arquette pulled a magic severed rabbit head from a hat with The Tripper, so I’m more than willing to give these boys a chance.

Sound Off: How does Adam Sandler’s new horror label Scary Madison make you feel inside?

What part will Rob Schneider eventually play? Some role with a craaaazy accent I'm sure.

Here's hoping that the villian isn't Sandler himself with a pickle for an arm... now gimmie some candy!!!
  • Adam Sandler is classic, though he does his best work as long as he's not straying form his specialty: casual, unassuming comedies
