Before you ask: yes, I’m a fan of terrible puns. If you didn’t know that by now, I’d say that you need to get out of the kitchen. Or something like that. Back on track, we’re here to talk about a new project for Hatchet and Frozen director Adam Green. This is something that Dr. Abaius wrote about in this morning’s B-Roll, but I feel that it warrants further discussion.

Here’s the premise: Killer Pizza is about a teen that takes a gig at the eponymous pizza delivery joint which is really a cover for a monster hunting organization.

First question: why is this not the premise for the remake of Monster Squad? If they’re going to do it, they might as well do it right. Assuming this movie is one part thriller, another part comedy, this premise is absolutely brilliant. Delivering pizzas by early evening, killer nasty monsters by late night. Both done in under 30 minutes or less. I can see the marketing angles now.

Luckily, this project is part of a trifecta of horror films set up at 1492 Pictures, the outfit run by Chris Columbus. The premise alone feels very much like an early Amblin film — including but not limited to The Goonies — so here’s hoping that it gets made with the quickness. Because I’m hungry.
