Ace Ventura Jr. Trailer: Like Nails on a Chalkboard

Lets begin with this thought — I thought that young Josh Flitter was pretty good in previous roles such as the little Holy-roller in License to Wed or the chubby sidekick in Nancy Drew — but this is just plain terrible. All seven fans of the Ace Ventura franchise should be deeply offended by Ace Ventura Jr. This pet detective movie, which will be going straight to DVD on January 27, 2009, features Flitter as the son of Ace Venture (originally played by Jim Carrey) who must step into his fathers footsteps after his mother is arrested for stealing a baby panda.

The liklihood of this movie being laughable is high, though I doubt we will be laughing with it. Check out the trailer below, courtesy of Trailer Spy.

It's going straight to DVD, so technically it doesn't constitute as a "real movie." I don't think anyone would rage about all those awful parodies like "Disaster Movie" if they went straight to DVD. Watching this kid do all these Jim Carrey impressions is painful to watch, though. Chubby-kins just doesn't have the agility to do all of Carrey's crazy physical shtick.

So that's The Mask, Dumb and Dumber. Ace Ventura and Bruce Almighty all give Carreyless sequels. Wow do people still think it's a good idea?

I agree Baxter, don't people realize the only Carreyless sequel that would work would be Michael Cera in the Truman Show 2?
