A Short Circuit Remake is alive!

Short CircuitTrust me when I say this – I am excited!

One of my favorite films of all time is thanks to a cheery little hunk of metal named Johnny 5. Even before it was considered cool to like this film, and before they made a second one, I loved that movie.

FilmStalker has cruised over to JoBlo who store some info from Moviehole, all to say that the directorial duties of this new film will be passed from John Badham to someone else who is yet to be named. There is one certainty that excites me, though – Tim Blaney, the man who voiced Number 5, will return. Come to think of it, if your claim to fame is playing the voice of a talking robot, why wouldn’t you return to do it again?

That’s like me not returning to play Danny Zuko in my high school’s remake of Grease. Not true, but you never know.

  • Found this post by way of Findory, that's kinda cool, as long as they don't botch it. Speaking of returning to voice talking robots, you probably already know that Peter Cullen is returning to play Optimus Prime.
  • Why oh why?

It's a good movie - heartwarming, really, it is. But it seems like a such a random choice for a remake. There are hundreds of campy 80's feel-good flicks that could have been chosen. Does anyone want to help out with my remake of D.A.R.Y.L. or Mannequin?
  • When you break down the general idea of Mannequin, seriously it's just creepy.
  • I liked D.A.R.Y.L...

D.A.R.Y.L. would make a great film.. but not a remake. have the old cast involved , and update it to where he is a professor or teacher and find out that the goverment didnt end their test on human hybred subjects ...he finds out there more test subjects like him so he sets out to free those kids.. in that they can do it in a way like the original did.
