I have some GREAT memories of being scared sh**less when I was younger and watching the first 2 of the elm street installments. I quit after that as the 3rd one got silly. But I'm eager to see this new one, cause I think sometimes updates can be a darn good thing!

The trailer downplays Freddy a bit much, I wish they sold me on how scary Freddy is going to be, not so much how well the movie looks made. Those kids still seem like shitty actors, wax puppets to look pretty and die. They don't even mention it's Jackie Earl Haley, he's supposed to be the selling point to me, a nerd who hates Michael Bay remakes but is curious because I love the original Nightmare on Elm Street films. This was disappointing. I hope there some redeeming value to the movie.

The re-imagining intrigues me, however I have to say that Jackie Earle Hayley is going to have to step up to the plate with a damn good bat if he wants to pass off as an acceptable replacement of Robert Englund. This film is a childhood favourite of mine (yes I watched this when I was 4 years old), and I did like Jackie in Watchmen and Little Children but if he ruins this for me I don't know what I'll be capable of.

Loved it! I like all of these Platinum Dunes remakes, I really like how the films looks. It sounds that they rerecorded Freddy's voice… In the first trailer he had a funny accent.

Looks fantastic, though I'm not certain how I feel about the Freddy make-up. Some scenes it looks like shit, others pretty good. If the make-up doesn't look as good as the original, or any of the sequels, they should feel ashamed.
