Film fanatics have been screaming about James Cameron’s Avatar since right around the time Cameron expressed interest in filming a Spider-Man film. This space epic where humans invade an alien culture by use of avatars has been long-sought after and a long-time coming with a long list of problems. Now that the iconic director has gotten the project past the green light, everyone else is trying to figure out what the hell all the fuss is about.
And these photos aren’t really going to help.

Or larger and blurry:

It’s Mystique! The second image is one that’s been cleaned up and enhanced a little, so I figured I’d take my own shot at largifying and enhancing. I think I did a fairly decent job:

Since the enhanced alien image looks strikingly like an inebriated Robert Fure, people who are just now catching wind of the geeky excitement for the project will have to wait just a little bit longer for proof of how incredible the project will be. Just know that it’s been a passion project for one of the most talented working directors in the business going on over a decade now, and the technology finally exists for him to be able to knock it out of the park.
Several different website’s (including our own) have had sources confirm that an Avatar trailer will play during Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, so hopefully we won’t have too much longer to wait for a professional, polished look at what should be an incredible feat of filmmaking.
What do you think? Why do we even do this kind of shit to you?
