Straight from the woman’s mouth (I would normally say horse’s but Lexi Alexander is much too cute for that) we get some new casting news for Punisher 2 via her website LexiAlexander.com.  The newest people tossing a wrench into Frank Castle’s deux a machina are Dash Mihok as Detective Soap, Colin Salmon as Agent Paul Budiansky, and Doug Hutchinson as Loony Bin Jim.

Now, I’m a big Punisher comic fan.  I think the MAX line of Punisher comics is one of the best reads out there.  I liked the first movie.  I loved Tom Jane in the role.  When he dropped out, my expectations bottomed out.  But these casting choices seem good to me.  I like both Dash Mihok and Colin Salmon.  My hopes are back for this movie, but it’s an uphill battle.  Here’s hoping.

The Punisher: War Zone is set to begin filming in October and will release sometime in 2008.
