As we continue this week to work through our list of the 25 Most Anticipated Films of ‘09 (Coming Soon…), there are certainly a few to which I’ve paid special interest. A small assortment on the cinematic horizon that have caught my eye. One such title is Henry Selick’s Coraline, full of energy and oddity. The man with the creative juices that spilt all over The Nightmare Before Christmas is back to direct an original work of Neil Gaiman’s — a real geekgasm if ever there was one.  And while you sit and ponder whether or not you thought Tim Burton directed Nightmare, as that is what you’ve always thought, please enjoy these brilliant behind the scenes featurettes, which come to us via the jolly readhead over at Ain’t It Cool News.

Coraline sneaks its way into theaters on February 6, 2009.

  • Very interesting, I might have to check this one out.
  • This is a movie I am reasonably excited for. It looks equal parts scary, funny, and charming.

It also has my favorite ad ever! Once in a subway in Boston, they placed little posters along the walls of the tunnel so when you go zooming by, it gives you a mini trailer. Awesome.
  • I'm extremely excited to see this film. It's a great book and the movie looks like its taken the story and ran away with it, but in a good way.
